TRU Conference 2022

Tobacco Free Adagio Health hosted their first TRU Youth Leadership Conference on April 14th 2022. Students from across Southwest Pennsylvania and Allegheny County gathered at Westmoreland County Community College to celebrate being tobacco free and advocate for MSA level state funding, closing loopholes in the Clean Indoor Air Act, and ending the youth vaping epidemic. Students heard from nationally ranked prevention speaker Michael DeLeon, advocacy expert Patrick Perez, and Health Promotions Specialist at the American Lung Association, Lauren Chappel. Students spent the second half of the morning advocating for these causes and demanding change from their legislators in preparation for the TRU Day At The Capitol on May 3rd.  Many thoughtful and important conversations were had at the first annual TRU Leadership Conference.
